Do you have any comments on the development principles for the Opportunity Site D6 - Ridley Road?

The loss of this space as part of the market and its identity is a tragedy. The replacement of a diverse range of small businesses with residential and commercial premises that in no way connect with the community that use the market is short sighted and opportunistic.

Do you have any comments on the development principles for the Opportunity Site D7 - Birkbeck Mews?

This site is integral to the continued operation of the market (storage) Its redevelopment needs to be carefully sonsdiered in terms of the impact on the market

Do you have any comments on the development principles for the Opportunity Site D8 - 2-16 Ashwin Street, 11-15 Dalston Lane?

Following the walking tour on 29.92021 it is clear that the Arcola's temporary 'outdoor' space, while a brilliant initiative, must indeed be temporary. Future development must shield the pre-existent Dalston Curve from the noise it cause inevitably. That probably implies an enclosed box with a near-blind East elevation. Enclosed cultural, housing or commercial space, perhaps a mixture, would fit.

What do you think about this Plan's approach to the opportunity sites?

Unhappy

Please tell us why.

This is a huge amount of construction which will undoubtedly mainly yield expensive market housing sold as an investment and rented out at extortionate rents. This is because most of these sites are privately owned and the owners will be rubbing their hands at making maximum profits as a result of endorsement for development by the Dalston Plan. There will be very little if anything which meets the needs of people like the 400 plus households who, in the past year, have been directed by Hackney Council into expensive, insecure private rented housing when what they need is council social rented housing..

What do you think about this Plan's approach to the opportunity sites?

Satisfied

Shopping centre and needlessly big car park long overdue improving - important to have genuinely affordable homes in mix and accessible retail as part of any development
